Christine Khouri Sader

Architectural designer · Ph.D. student, FAU

Christine Khouri Sader is an architectural designer, researcher, and design studio professor from Lebanon, based in South Florida. She holds a Master of Science in Design specializing in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from the University of Pennsylvania and a NAAB-accredited Bachelor of Architecture from Florida Atlantic University, where she graduated cum laude and received the Faculty Selected Thesis Award. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Comparative Studies at Florida Atlantic University, focusing on interactive and emerging technologies in architecture, digital fabrication, sound, and immersive media. Her current research investigates how robotic movement and sound can create spatial experiences, with an emerging exploration of performance at the intersection of architecture and robotics.

Her research on feedback loops, passive cooling, and adaptive conformal additive manufacturing has been published and presented at international conferences, including ROB|ARCH and CAADRIA. Her research presentations also include doctoral workshops associated with ACADIA and ASCAAD, with participation spanning Denmark, Taiwan, the United States, and the Middle East. Her research on robotic movement and sound has been accepted for presentation at SIGraDi 2026 in Santiago, Chile. Through both research and practice, Christine explores how sound and performance in emerging technologies can support human agency in shaping and experiencing space.

Professionally, Christine has experience across architectural design, construction documentation, construction administration, and project closeout. She contributed to residential and hospitality projects including the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Alina Residences, West Bay, and Glass House in South Florida.

Christine also teaches undergraduate design studios and architectural modeling and visualization courses at Florida Atlantic University’s School of Architecture, guiding students through the design process while encouraging critical thinking, spatial exploration, and creative inquiry through computational design, design-build, and community projects. She previously worked as a Robotics Lab Operator and Faculty Research Assistant in the Autonomous Manufacturing Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently conducts research within FAU’s Interactive Machines Lab, bringing together robotics, sound, and performance through interdisciplinary experimentation.
