Animating Robots: Creative Robotics with Blender

A hands-on workshop for artists, designers, architects, animators and creative technologists on controlling industrial robot arms with the tools of animation. No robotics background was required.

Participants used keyframes, constraints and procedural techniques in Blender with the Animaquina add-on. The program covered robot fundamentals and safety, simulating motion, and running animations on a physical robot. It then introduced Geometry Nodes for procedural motion and sensor-based interaction. Each participant developed a short robotic choreography or art concept and presented it for group critique.
